David Stevens, a typical 15-year-old kid from the suburbs, dreams of the day that he finally gets his driver’s license so that he can leave home and never come back, driving as far away from his dysfunctional family and his dead-end hometown as he can.  On the day of his cousin’s wedding, David plots his escape but discovers that leaving won’t be as easy as he expected because despite their differences, his younger brother, Gil, couldn’t survive their troubled home life without him.  At the end of the night, after the reception has come to a raging end, David learns the depths of his brotherhood when he must stand up to their overbearing father, keeping their dad from getting behind the wheel in no shape to drive with Gil in the backseat.
